The biggest problem is the prices of food here.

Last time I went with my mom to the store the prices of meat, at the best deal we could find, was 16 rubles a pound!

I tell you what is weird, comrades. When I went with Vadim to Southern Russia in 2007, I started eating a candy bar while we were taking a break from picking watermelons, and everyone looked at me like I just sinned! I didn't get it until Grandma snatched it from me and threw it away. I found out that Southern Russians only eat fruits for something sweet unless it is a holiday.

Yes, comrade. And the only difference between a Southern Russian and a Western Russian is an odd accent and a stronger urge for anarchy. We should look towards the future and work for better times or we'll never get anywhere. No sense in talking, it is actions that get things done.

da comrade revolutia, i still do not know why when the gas prices in the united states go down, russias gas prices go up?! it is a strange thing. any ideas? i can understand other countries in a food shortage because of the u.s economy but why gas prices like that?

Is it that the people in Southern Russia can not afford to spend rubles on sweets other than holidays, or is it that they just prefer not to?

Southern Russian do not eat very much candy and sweets except on holidays by choice. But Southern Russians celebrate every holiday in existance, even foreign holidays! So there you have it. It is very funny.

I don't know that much, I have only visited her once for a total of two weeks. She loves bird hunting with a shotgun... and other than that does crossword puzzles all day...
